POSITION TITLE: Police Officer

The City of Marceline is accepting applications for a full time police officer.  Applicants must be twenty one (21) years of age, POST certified and have a high school diploma or GED.  Applicants should have knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, the democratic political process, common safety rules, regulations, procedures and practices to include effective restraint techniques, basic first aid and CPR.  Desired applicant will have strong communication, listening, public relations, and organizational skills.  Starting Salary is $14.00 per hour with a competitive benefits package.

POSITION TITLE: Wastewater Plant Operator

The City of Marceline is accepting applications for a Wastewater Plant Operator. Applicants must be able to under general supervision, perform a wide variety of skilled, semi-skilled duties in the operation, maintenance, repairs and inspection of wastewater treatment system components (lift stations, holding tanks, grease traps, etc.) used in the operation of the City of Marceline wastewater system; and performs related work as assigned.  Selected Applicant will be required to collect wastewater samples per state regulations, perform process control laboratory testing, record data and prepare regulatory reports, adjust chemical feed rates.  Selected applicant will be required to operate and maintain a range of construction equipment, including a variety of power and hand tools.  Applicants must be able to work in extreme weather conditions and be available for overtime when required.  This position requires rotating weekend on-call duty.

 

A high school diploma or GED is required.  Possession of a valid CDL driver's license or the ability to obtain one within six month of hire is required. Preferred candidate will reside within the Marceline School District or be willing to relocate within six months of hire.  Salary is based on qualifications.
