POSITION TITLE: Chief Plant Operator - Wastewater

Starting wage:  $20.22 - $22.67 hourly (dependent on qualifications)

The City of Marceline is accepting applications for a Chief Plant Operator for their Wastewater Facility. Reporting directly to the Water/Wastewater Superintendent, an employee in this position oversees the utilization of lab data and operation as it pertains to the wastewater treatment plant and sewer collection and any related work as assigned. This includes primary, advanced secondary, solids handling, plants processes, industrial pretreatment program and control systems, and is responsible for recommending budgets, standards, and technical systems to ensure continuous and proper operation of the wastewater treatment plant.   This position works under federal, regional, and Missouri Department of Natural Resources regulations and procedures for wastewater treatment as well as City and departmental policies and procedures. Selected applicant will also be required to operate and maintain a range of construction equipment, including a variety of power and hand tools.

 

Employees are subject to working in both inside and outside environments, in extreme temperatures, and exposure to various hazards.  Employees in this position work a full-time 40-hour work week and are subject to on-call and call-back work.

 

A high school diploma or GED and a Class B Wastewater Certification or higher is required.  Possession of a valid MO driver’s license with the ability to obtain CDL within six months of hire is required.  Preferred candidate will reside within a 35-mile radius of the City of Marceline or be willing to relocate within six months of hire.  A detailed job description is available upon request at City Hall.

POSITION TITLE: Police Officer

Starting wage:  $18.68 hourly

 

The City of Marceline is accepting applications for a full-time police officer.  Applicants must be twenty one (21) years of age, POST certified and have a high school diploma or GED.  Applicants should have knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, the democratic political process, common safety rules, regulations, procedures and practices to include effective restraint techniques, basic first aid and CPR.  Desired applicant will have strong communication, listening, public relations, and organizational skills.  Preferred candidate will reside within a thirty-five (35) mile radius of the City or be willing to relocate within six months of hire.  Salary is based on qualifications.
