POSITION TITLE: Lineman

 

The City of Marceline is seeking an enthusiastic team-player who is experienced in the electrician trade, and is passionate about the community.

 

Under general supervision in the Electric Department, an employee in this position performs a variety of skilled work in the maintenance, repair, and construction of the city’s electrical distribution system, sub-station and power plant. The individual should be familiar with and / or willing to learn the electrical and mechanical principles associated with the distribution system, sub-station and power plant.  Employees are subject to working in both inside and outside environments, in extreme temperatures, and exposure to various hazards.  Employees in this position work a full-time, five (5) day work week and are subject to on-call and call-back work.  Occasional interaction with the public may be necessary in the performance of duty.  The selected applicant will report directly to the Electric Superintendent.

 

Prefer a candidate with a high school diploma or GED and at least 1-year experience as a Journeyman Lineman.  Candidates with all levels of experience including those willing to complete Apprentice Journeyman training will be considered.  Possession of a valid MO driver’s license with the ability to obtain CDL within six months of hire is required.

POSITION TITLE: Police Officer

Starting wage:  $18.68 hourly

 

The City of Marceline is accepting applications for a full-time police officer.  Applicants must be twenty one (21) years of age, POST certified and have a high school diploma or GED.  Applicants should have knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, the democratic political process, common safety rules, regulations, procedures and practices to include effective restraint techniques, basic first aid and CPR.  Desired applicant will have strong communication, listening, public relations, and organizational skills.  Preferred candidate will reside within a thirty-five (35) mile radius of the City or be willing to relocate within six months of hire.  Salary is based on qualifications.
